The charge brought against Ms. Rizwana Awan is:
Failing to maintain high standards of professional and personal conduct and/or behave with honesty and integrity. Contrary to Principles 2 and/or 3 of the CILEx Code of Conduct 2010.
The particulars of charge 1 were:
1. On or about 17 June 2013 Rizwana Awan, then an Affiliate Member of CILEx made a false statement in a form ET1 (Application to Employment Tribunal) namely that she had received confirmation from CILEx confirming that she “was a Fellow of CILEx”.
2. On 5 May 2014 Rizwana Awan, then an Affiliate Member of CILEx, made a false statement or statement in a witness statement in the course of proceedings in the East London Employment Tribunal (Case Number 3202108/2013) between Rizwana Awan (Claimant) and Castle Point Borough Council (Respondent) namely:
i. that she had received confirmation from CILEx confirming that she “was a Fellow of CILEx”, and/or
ii. that she had received from a Membership Operation Administrator for CILEx an email dated November 2012 stating that her membership details including the “Membership Grade: Fellow”
The Charge was found proved.
The Disciplinary Tribunal ordered that Ms Awan be excluded for a period of five years and may not re-apply until after five years have passed if she wishes to re-instate as a CILEx member.
