Alternative Dispute Resolution Goes Live

Alternative Dispute Resolution Goes Live

From the 1 October 2015, CILEx members, CILEx practitioners and CILEx Authorised Entities are required to comply with the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) regulations and signpost consumers to an approved ADR.

The obligation in the ADR Directive and in government regulations is only to signpost an approved ADR and not to agree to the use of the approved ADR.

The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has approved a number of ADR bodies who will be able to provide ADR services. You should check the list of approved ADR bodies on their website, to identify the most appropriate provider for you, as this list may change as new approved providers are added.

Our Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Guidance gives details on the requirements and obligations for CILEx members, CILEx practitioners and CILEx Authorised Entities.
