Please be aware that the existing Fellowship rules and standards will end on 31 December 2028. After this date, you will no longer be able to qualify as a standalone Chartered Legal Executive.
The last date for submitting a legacy portfolio application is 31 December 2027.
Portfolios must be accompanied by a qualifying experience decision letter (confirming that you have met the 2,300 hours requirement).
We recommend that applicants apply for qualifying experience as soon as they determine that they have met the 2,300 hours requirement and at least 3 months before the 31 December 2027 deadline.
We have allowed a year for submissions to be assessed to pre-empt any issues that applicants may have during the application process. This will enable plenty of time for applicants to submit further information and to manage the assessor’s workload effectively throughout this period.
Please note: individuals who have already attained Chartered Legal Executive status will not be affected by the change.
