The University of Law Practice Rights course has proven to be a popular alternative to the portfolio route for obtaining practice rights with over 75% of applicants passing the course first time round.
CRL is required to assure itself that individuals seeking additional Practice Rights are competent to undertake these activities unsupervised. The new assessment route administered by the University of Law, replaces the previous portfolio based assessments to provide a quick and simple assessment of competence that CRL are able to use to authorise additional rights.
The deadline and enrolment dates have now been confirmed for the upcoming 2025/2026 assessments for civil, family, probate and conveyancing courses. Applicants must first register with CILEx Regulation before the following deadlines:
