The Legal Services Board’s Reshaping Legal Services Conference took place on the 13 October, 2022. CRL staff attended to discover the latest EDI developments and opportunities for further collaboration.
The conference was an opportunity for us to learn more about the challenges set out in the LSB’s Reshaping Legal Services strategy published in March 2021. The aim of the conference was to promote collaboration, leadership and research in the sector, as well as highlighting good practice and finding ways that the sector can contribute to tackling EDI challenges.
Ensuring that lawyers are treated fairly, whatever their background, is a key commitment from CILEx Regulation, promoting fair access for all those who work within the legal services sector, as well as those who use legal services.
Of particular interest, was a session from the Legal Services Consumer Panel (LSCP) regarding some important new research – Understanding Ethnic Minority Experiences of Using Legal Services which highlighted lower satisfaction levels amongst ethnic minority consumers.
