Our authorised lawyers are Chartered Legal Executives and CILEx Practitioners.
They have:
- legal qualifications because they study and pass degree level exams in law
- experience of legal work and before they qualify, they must carry out legal work for at least two years and demonstrate to us that they have the right knowledge and skills
- up-to-date knowledge because we require them to develop their legal knowledge and skills each year and they must report to us that they are doing this
They also have to comply with the CILEx Code of Conduct and we can take enforcement action if necessary.
Doing your own legal work
There are many benefits to using an authorised professional, however some people decide to do their own legal work. Find out more here.
